• • The Social Loft  will be a place that promotes a positive lifestyle in the area of health, wellness and education for women and children. The Social Loft will service Detroit and the Hamtramck area as well as their surrounding communities in Michigan. Our mission is to create spaces of comfort while also offering a space for business and productivity. Inshallah it will provide an opportunity for women to use the skills and talents Allah has given them to teach others and help support their families and the communities. 

  

HELP WITH RENOVATIONS AND OPERATIONAL COSTS FOR A PRIVATE WOMEN'S CENTER "THE SOCIAL LOFT".


 A NECESSITY FOR THE COMMUNITY!

9United, which consists of the members of an African American family from Detroit, MI began their mission by providing programs with the hopes of strengthening the family unit and Muslim community that they were apart of. They aimed to provide Islamic based quality events, seminars, and family entertainment. In the past 5 yrs, 9United has served the Southeastern Michigan community by organizing a number of programs, that included the Think, Grow and Learn Kids Summer Camp, The Nisar Awards Show, which honored the heroes in the community, The Raja young Muslimah mentoring group and The Business Sip & Shop for Women entrepreneurs. Three of the members of the 9United group, Taqwa, Laila, and Aliyah Mahdi began to recognize that often times the lack of resources and spaces have been a hindrance in the past when providing more beneficial and enriching programs; particularly for women and children. This prompted them to expand their endeavors by opening a private women's Social Loft, with the hopes that it will have an immense impact on the community. As mothers themselves, they realize the importance of the women's well-being and the huge impact that it plays on the family environment. The Social Loft will help to cater and provide support to the overall wellness of the Women. As a result, we pray that it will help them be better wives and mothers, which will further benefit their families and the community as a whole.

Alhumdulillah we have secured a place! The funds raised from this campaign will help us with renovating, purchasing equipment and materials, as well as helping with the operational startup costs for the Building. We are also taking strict precautions because of Covid-19, so we want to make sure that we have ample equipment and sanitizing supplies to operate smoothly and safely. The members of The Social Loft will have access to wonderful amenities, such as office/studio spaces, meeting rooms for Halaqas and classes,  fitness areas, as well as our cozy and calm spaces for mothers to relax, called "Mom Pods". The multipurpose facility will also cater to the children by offering them a host of enriching classes and activities. On designated days, we will also offer a drop-in play time for children to play safely while their mothers workout or relax. Finally, The Social Loft will be open to the community for pop-up shops, book clubs, family gatherings and a host of other exciting and educational events.

 Our first fundraiser goal is to reach $3000 towards our goal of $12,000. Inshallah any amount of money given will help us to get closer to our goal of providing this much needed Space for the Community.
